What one-to-one actually means
Each natural lash gets exactly one extension bonded along it, isolated from its neighbors so nothing sticks together. Your final density is therefore your own density — classic lashes make what you have longer and darker, they do not add fullness. If your natural lashes are sparse, classic will look elegant but thin, and hybrid is the honest recommendation.
That isolation is also why a full set takes around two hours. Speed at the lash bed is how lashes get glued together, and glued lashes are how natural lashes get pulled out.
The appointment itself
- You lie down, eyes closed, for the whole appointment. Most people sleep at some point.
- Lower lashes are taped away from the working area.
- Each upper lash is isolated and an extension is bonded a fraction above the lid — never touching skin.
- Length, curl and thickness are chosen with you at the start against your eye shape.
- The set is checked for stray bonds and combed through.
Come with clean lashes and no eye makeup. Oil-based remover the night before is the single most common reason a set does not bond well.
Fills, and why they are timed
Natural lashes shed on their own cycle, taking their extension with them, so a set thins gradually rather than falling out all at once. Fills are priced by how long you leave it because the work is different:
- Two-week fill — $55. Topping up a set that is still mostly intact.
- Three-week fill — $75. More gaps to rebuild and more grown-out extensions to remove first.
Past about three and a half weeks a fill becomes a full set at $100, which is worth knowing before you stretch an appointment by another week to save money.
Do extensions damage your own lashes?
Not when the weight is right and the isolation is clean. Damage comes from extensions too heavy or too long for the natural lash carrying them, from bonds that stick two lashes together, and from picking. All three are avoidable, and the first is a decision we make with you at the start of the appointment.
If you have worn lashes elsewhere and noticed your own getting sparser, say so. It usually means the sets were too long for your lashes, and going shorter for a cycle or two lets them recover while you still wear extensions.
